Turn-Key VoIP Business Opportunity?

The purpose of explaining the turn key VoIP system is to summarize what is typically being developed on the market to open up a VoIP business today. This is to inform you of what it is, how it’s done, and what is the cost. If you have any questions about detailed implementations or have diagrams you would like to send, feel free to comment on the http://www.VoIPBlogs.com website or email gibson@vocalscape.com

The Turn Key VoIP Cluster (VoIP, Calling Card, Prepaid Post Paid Cluster)

Soft Switch Includes a Four Port PR1, T1 or E1 Card and the appropriate hardware solution to enable up to several million minutes to be originated and terminated at your POP. The Soft Switch can route your VoIP calls to terminate anywhere - ideal for selling minutes to foreign telecommunications firms wishing to terminate with your POP in addition to sending your in-Country traffic to your selected carrier. The Soft Switch also controls access to the network and caller authentication. The system is able to handle IAX, H323 and SIP calls from third parties.

Eyefon Software License Eyefon web-to-phone and click-to-talk application frees your customers to originate calls anywhere at anytime. An excellent solution for Wireless Hot Spots enabling VoIP calls from PC’s to Phones. The proprietary application would be made available in Object Code and can be branded by your firm and corporate clients.

Database Server The database server is separate from the web server for security purposes, keeping the database IP Address and Web Address separate. The database server controls the voip billing and recorded information from the Soft Switch. Calling Card Software The Voice prompted calling card application and web based customer provisioning application allows for a turn-key business model and PIN generation system.

Web Server Facilitates the hosting of the Eyefon Application, Database Functions for billing and Administration, and hosted images for setting-up branded solutions and resellers. The web server enables the application service provider model for creating a prepaid reseller network.

Expansion and Deployment

Gateway Set-Up The turn-key portion of setting-up the VoIP business is complete once the soft switch, Billing, Web Interfaces, and authentication process is complete. The soft switch therefore can handle the authentication for the hardware phone for a subscriber model, or for running VoIP PBX clients via the system, or for running prepaid calling cards with the full IVR. The Gateway essentially is the Point of Presence (POP) in the Countries and areas the firm wants to have a network in or terminate too. If the firm utilizes other companies Gateways, sometimes in the long run it is less costly to set-up your own, especially if there is a lot of communications between your main office and perhaps a subsidiary in a different Country. I personally like the arrangement of hosting the turn-key portion in a Data Center in New York, LA, or Vancouver Canada and hosting the Gateways (usually two for redundancy) in the Countries such as Somalia or Dubai so that my main investment in equipment is somewhere safe and neutral and I have minimal risks when opening the other foreign markets.

Investment Cost

The combination of the calling card system, softphone licenses, web server, database server, softswitch, configuration and potential integration with typically existing Cisco 5350’s, Quintum or SNOM projects is generally around $25,000 to $30,000 USD on an outsourced basis. If you were to build it entirely in-house, with the amount of man hours in building the solution, you are looking at over $30,000, so my recommendation is to use a vendor who has a good grasp of several technologies.

Ask me if you need help...

If you have any questions we have several years working with SER, STUN, SNOM, CISCO, LUCENT, QUINTUM, ASTERISK, and our own proprietary systems implementations with confidence in creating a solution fast and effectively. Feel free to send a diagram of your proposed project and we will comment on it.
