Where is the VoIP Revolution?

Where is the VoIP Revolution

Holding a cold Kilkenny beer, sitting last night discussing with a Lucent and Juniper rep the future of VoIP, it became apparent that we all are supplying appliances for carrying VoIP Software, and the future is in the software. Companies all around the world are sipping a cold beer or a cup of java in the morning discussing VoIP and it’s disruptive nature for telecommunications and benefits for the world of internet communications.

VoIP software is a wide category from codecs to actual compilations of code creating softphones or pbx technology such as the softswitch. Strategies for deploying the technology require a lot of collaboration between carriers, ISPs, and the deployment of device manufacturers and software providers. Moving towards a world of high level development code deployed in a platform neutral environment, a frenzy of ideas, patents, and business models unfold. Keeping in front of the game is not easy and it has not been won by anyone by any means. So what are we doing to create this future?

The Focus Of The Future For VOIP!

  • Developing voice applications for the Internet as we believe it is the future of telecommunications.

  • The state of the art SIP/H.323 softphone and creative applications for users to integrate VoIP into their daily lives

  • VoIP Devices that are in the form of phones (People like to pick something up)

  • Setting-Up multiple points of presence to offer a flat rate subscription

  • The Mighty VoIP IP PBX deployment and related softwares or APIs
  • Sure, WiFi is definitely in the horizon, and a reality in ASIA!

What is the primary marketing focus for software distribution?

  • to market technologies to and create partnerships with Hardware Vendors, Internet Service Providers, Corporations and End Users;

  • to customize, integrate and support VOIP solutions which will meet the needs of each of the partners and customers;

The writing is on the wall or in the blog in this case. If you represent a good product and can reach the market, the potential is huge. The reason is that software is a high margin product that allows for larger profits when marketing to consumers. The future is making VoIP EASY.

For companies looking to get into VoIP, there are many vendors looking to pursue your business, or even for companies to switch from one vendor to another. In all honesty, a solid VoIP consulting firm is a necessity. I would recommend going to a consultancy before going to the KPMG or Ernst and Youngs of this world, as the experts are in the field.

If you would like to find a VoIP consultant or would like to launch a VoIP business, please contact Gibson@vocalscape.com or Ryan Gibson at 1-866-456-VOIP. My MSN is ryancanada@hotmail.com.
